Call to order:

Approval of Prior Minutes:
Ned Nikodem
pointed out that the treasures report reported for the
October meeting is actually the report for November.
Note:
Treasures report for October is under dispute. Ned Nikodem
is to provide updated information and balance. Once
provided, the October minutes will be corrected.

Speakers:
Due to a death in the family Gary Pollard was unable to address the federation. The Federation of
Neighborhoods wishes to extend their condolences to Garry
and his family.
Sharifah
Aun: reported on the developments for the Montgomery
Ward building. Oakwood
hospital is interested in the property for the site of a
medical center and possibly a senior apartment facility.
Oakwood’s plans call for demolition of the existing
structure.
Bob Sersen: with the Neighborhood services department addressed the
group informing us that his department primarily focuses
on building exterior issues. The department has instituted
random weekend hours to identify contractors and property
owners doing projects without a valid building permit.

Old Buisness:
Ned
Nikodem: gave praise to the city for Re-painting the
lane divisions on Military street.
Sal Gencarelli:
Noted that the group is still waiting on a list of
commissions that the city needs volunteers to fill.
6.
New
Business:
Sal Gencarelli:
called for nominations for DFNA officers. Dave
Tillman nominated Terry
Pulido for president. Ned
Nikodem nominated Sharifah
Aun for vice president. Terry
Pulido nominated Ned
Nikodem for treasurer. Sharifah
Aun nominated Dave
Tillman for secretary. Positions are open to all
neighborhood representatives, and votes may only be cast
by members in good standing.
Sal Gencarelli
is stepping down due to work demands. Sal will be
re-assigned to Kansas City. The DFNA wishes to thank Sal
for his years of leadership, service and involvement in
his community and city; Sal you will be missed and always
welcomed if your schedule permits. THANKS!
Holiday
dinner and elections are to be held at Richter's Chalet, Wednesday
December 5th. at 7:30pm.
Dinner is to be family style and is expected to
cost approximately $20.00 per person (a sponsor for the
event has not been identified) Persons attending should
RSVP prior to 11/26/07. Please contact Dave

Ned Nikodem:
asked if the city could use the emergency warning system
to start and end trick or treat times on Halloween.
Information on city engineering projects should be posted
on the city website to promote dissemination of accurate
information.
Dave Tillman: extended congratulations to DFNA’s own Mary
Petlichkoff for her election to the school board and
her assistance getting the City Charter assembled and
approved. Also noted, the city was given the authority to
sell the Dearborn Towers. Dave asked John
Cascardo if Dearborn is exploring leverage of its
assets, what is the cost of Dearborn’s current leaf
program in terms of expense for manpower, overtime,
equipment, and extra maintenance required for sewer
cleaning. It was suggested that this should be addressed at a meeting by
Curt Giberson
of public works.
Gibson Nichols:
asked about the status of a wireless internet service
within Dearborn.
Jerry Leonard:
asked if Godfrey
Udoji could come back and address how the city’s
engineering department has saved Dearborn money, by their
actions.

Adjournment:
With
no further business to attend Ned
Nikodem motioned for adjournment, Steve
Sharp seconded, motion carried and meeting adjourned
at 9:01 pm.
